Day #286
One post-crossing card to someone in California (such a long way to travel!) and a pen pal letter all going out this morning.
All I had in incoming was a letter from one of my sponsored children, Shallon in Uganda...but what a wonderful letter it was, and best of all, it came with a picture!
I also immediately wrote a response to Shallon, but I used Compassion's on-line option, so it was not an on-paper letter.

Day #284
This morning I sent out another one of those fun Isabel Samaras postcards and a new one I just found of the Davis Arboretum. I also made a special envelope for the letter I wrote--and I won't give away to whom it is going!
I got a new picture of my Compassion child, Emmanuella (in Ghana) today, but I had already received the picture as a .jpg, so it was not anything I had not seen before. And I received a letter from a pen pal in the SF Bay Area.

Day #283
When Walt picked up the mail today he said there was an offer of a free cremation addressed to him and the rest of the mail was addressed to me.
There was a postcrossing card from the Netherlands, of the sender's 4 year old grandchild's drawing. I love that idea. There were also cards from two pen pals who haven't written in awhile and a letter from a 23 year old girl in Italy who stumbled across this web site and sent a very sweet letter, which I have already answered!

Sorry 'bout That - Incoming
I can't believe how long it's been since I've added to this site. I
don't remember some of all of this, but these are the pieces of mail
I've received lately...
I got all these post-crossing cards the same day. What a day!
I'm glad to finally be receiving mail from Compassion kids!

Kimi--please note that I received your card. I also received a returned letter from me, with exactly the same address you put on your card, but it says you were no longer at that address. Please e-mail me at basykes@dcn.org so we can figure out the problem!

Day #280
Because of a doctor's appointment which meant I had to leave the house too early to get something written to send out, there was no outgoing mail, but I did get these nice letters, one from my favorite carnivore in Colorado, one from someone who wrote because of reading my address here, and two other great penpal letters.

Day #276
I sent mail to Australia, and a couple to the US. The afternoon mail brought....
...postcrossing cards from Poland and the Netherands, and letters from Sandra in the Netherlands (did you know that Queen Beatrix's 2nd oldest son was buried in an avalanche in Austria on February 17, was flown to London, and has been comatose in the hospital ever since and is not expected to live?)
Another letter came from Heidi in Atlanta and one from Jennifer in Basingstoke (England). Jennifer's letter came with the best stamp!
One of my favorite stamps thus far!
