Day #295

I was catching up on stuff that had been recorded on our DVR while we were at Easter dinner last night, so I only got a postcard and a letter ready to go out this morning.

The postcard went to a school which joined post-crossing to get a view of the world.  I thought that this old schoolhouse in Old Sacramento would be interesting for them.

I also wrote a letter to my sponsored child in the Philippines, but that gets sent by e-mail through Compassion, Int'l.

There was a great bunch of incoming mail.

Two great post-crossing cards, from Spain and Finland (including one of the great Inge Look cards) and a wonderful Swap-Bot card from Perth (Western Australia).  Then there were three penpal letters, and one Swap Bot letter from someone with whom, I think it's fair to say, I have absolutely nothing in common.  But that's the breaks when you enter into a random swap.  Sometimes you win, sometimes you don't.

Day #282

Two letters and a post-crossing card outgoing today.

Lots of post-crossing incoming too, along with a nice penpal letter.

Day #132

Today was a very busy day...and Sunday to boot, so no incoming mail and not much for tomorrow's outgoing either.

There were 2 Swap-Bot postcards and one for Send-Something and then a brief penpal letter.

Day #51

Well, time to get back to the daily mail.

I'm starting to get to the letters which were delivered while I was away and have two appropriate home made envelopes. One is a barf bag from Sichuan Air and the other is an envelope I made

Day #47

Three outgoing letters today, two to pen pals, one to family. Postcrossing postcards to Estonia and Finland.

It occurs to me that I just called this "the postcard project" but didn't set a goal or anything. I will reach 50 days of this project just before we leave for China, when I won't be able to post every day. So I think I am going to end at day #50 and then start day #51 when we get back from China.

Got a lovely letter from Sarah in the UK...I loved the Pooh stamp!

Day #43

This was long letter day. I wrote one letter, to Denise, to keep myself awake while watching the Royal Wedding (1 a.m. - 4 a.m.). And I wrote a very long letter to Nancy this morning.

The mail brought a nice letter from Sarala. I had sent her a letter in one of my favorite envelopes, the one with one made-up eye in one corner, fading into white makeup on the face. I loved that envelope and was happy to hear that it arrived safely. I also liked Sarala's envelope, made out of a page of a map.
