Day #211

I took advantage of a rainy Sunday to write lots of letters, and send one non-Post-Crossing post card.

Day #210

I was busy doing a bunch of things today and only got one post-crossing card sent out. It's essentially a self-portrait, if I were blonde, and didn't use a computer.

Nice incoming, though. One post-crossing card from the Netherlands, another great mail from the wonderful ElleMental, and 3 pen pal letters

Day #190

Just got 2 letters written this morning...one to Amanda and one to a pen pal in South Carolina. I especially liked the Disney envelope I made for Amanda.

Lots of fun stuff in the mail this afternoon.

A wonderful envelope from Kendall in Maryland, including the pop up "Hi" card and the sympathy card, and also the Where's Waldo postcard, a post-crossing card from Atlanta, a letter from Mary in Canada, one from Kimi in California and one from Cathy (my most prolific writer) from Ohio.

Day #139

The outgoing mail was a combination of what was written on Sunday, and what written today. Today was a day for long letters.

Only one letter incoming, from Karen, who just moved to Calgary. Now Karen's pen is very light and I struggle to read her letters, and as she just moved, I needed her return address from the envelope, but the end of the address (which turned out to be "SW") had been stamped over by the post office. So I did a Google search and--what fun!--I found a real estate video of the guy who was trying to sell their house. So I got to see it before they moved in.

I also created a spreadsheet today to track when letters arrive and addresses of writers. I know that many are going to drop off because we don't click and this is a good way to track that...and discard the drop offs after a few months.

I found out I have heard from 36 people since I started the project. My best writer has sent 8 letters. Second are two women who have each written 4 times, then 3 who have written 3 times (not all of these wrote their first letter at the same time, of course). Thirteen have only written once and I guess after receiving my reply aren't interested in continuing the correspondence, but who knows--maybe I will hear again from them some day. I'm happy to get a letter a month from someone. Not happy...thrilled!

I also found a letter buried under the junk on my desk which I haven't answered in over a month...I will be answering that letter tonight! (Maybe that happened to some of my letters that have not been answered.)

Day #118

I only wrote one postcard, for Postcrossing, today.

But I got some nice incoming mail. The post card is for Swap-Bot, and then fun pen pal letters from Canada and Texas. Good day.

Day #106

It's Saturday!

It's the day I write to the two soldier Amandas. I also wrote a letter to one of the Compassion children and then two pen pal letters, one of which I mailed in an airsick bag from China Air.

The afternoon brought a Swap-Bot postcards and a letter from a pen pal.

Day #101

I had no letters to answer today, so I wrote two letters to friends in Japan, congratulating them on the Women's Soccer team's win in the World Cup. I was rooting for the Americans, of course, but if they couldn't win, I was thrilled that Japan had something wonderful to celebrate, which I think they sorely needed this year.

The incoming mail was almost overwhelming!

3 pen pal letters (Canada, Brasil, and Ohio), 2 Swap-Bot postcards from the "You Animal" swap, 3 Post-Crossing post cards (California, Netherlands, Japan), and 4 cards from SendSomething people. Also two of my own letters were returned because I made stupid mistakes in addressing the envelopes.
